Brian Cabral

After receiving his degree in Behavioral Psychology from Harvard University in 1983, Mr. Cabral immediately began working in the field of Technology Adoption.
In 1983, as a Project Manager for a small company called "Knoware", he led the effort to build computer games that allowed users to maximize the value of their brand-new IBM PCs, by teaching them to use Word Processing, Spreadsheet, Database, and Graphics Tools.

In 1984, he founded the first of his four companies, Delphi, Inc., which assisted organizations in utilizing the cutting-edge programming language "C", which was just then emerging from Bell Labs via universities.

In 1985 Mr. Cabral merged Delphi into Information Foundation, a company which spent the next ten years assisting organizations including AT&T, IBM, NCR, and Sun Microsystems, to drive the adoption of the UNIX operating system.

After a two year hiatus on Maui, Mr. Cabral briefly served as CEO of SkillView, a small software company before founding Kaivo, a reincarnation of Information Foundation with a focus that shifted just slightly, from the UNIX system to Linux and Open Source.

Now, after almost two decades of focus on the question of how companies can maximize the rate at which their technologies are adopted, Mr. Cabral has founded Tecado, a company which specializes in driving Technology Adoption.

Alix Labatut

Ms. Labatut has specialized in Corporate Public Relations since graduating from St. Michael's College in 1983. After eight years in the P.R. department of world-famous Ford Models in New York, she moved to Maui to become the P.R. director of the Kaanapali Beach Resort Association.

She brings her extensive P.R. background to bear on the critical problems of information flow and community building that are so crucial to maximizing the rate and value of technology adoption.
